Job Summary: Providing exceptional customer service to patients/ insurance carrier and scheduling appointments Physical therapy appointments all locations.

Hours: 8:00 to 5:00 (may range)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To act in a manner that is indicative of team spirit and cooperation.
2. To model behaviors that supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of Southern California Orthopedic Institute Medical Group.
3. Reports to work as scheduled each day.
4. Complies with SCOI Policy and Procedure.
5. Work closely with members of SCOI at all levels, i.e., physicians, management, staff, ancillary departments in the process of appointment scheduling.
6. Answer calls though the Appointment ACD Path.
7. Exceptional customer service thus providing knowledgeable and accurate information.
8. Scheduling patients for Initial Evaluations/ Follow up visits with SCOI Physical therapists and Occupational therapists in all office locations:
9. Interview and gather imperative information from patients/ insurance carriers to provide best options and appointment availability for the injury/condition:
a. Injury
b. Condition
c. Insurance
d. Location
10. Registration of patient demographics
a. Creating worker’s compensation cases
b. Creation of cases for private authorization or referrals
c. Registration of Adjuster/ Nurse Case Managers.
11. Private and Worker’s Compensation Insurance comprehension to distinguish an industrial related injury from a non-industrial related injury.
12. Follows specific Therapy protocols for scheduling appointments for:
a. New Referrals / Initial scheduling
b. New Work Comp referrals /Initial scheduling
c. UCLA HMO patients
d. Follow up visits
e. Splints with our OT department
13. Scheduling appointments directly with insurance carriers / One Call or Med risk
14. Comprehension of Insurance Matrix & keeping up to date of the ever changing of Payer contracts as they relate to Physical therapy
15. Interacts with Adjuster, Nurse Case Managers, and outside vendors, regarding workers compensation needs
16. E-mailing of same/next day add on’s/ Insurance verification
17. Faxing worker’s compensation information requested by carrier or Carriers agent .

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

Scheduling Appointments
FPG clearance
Benefit flag protocol
Visit management
New W/C & Private appointments
Faxing Work Comp for WC Status line
Agent assigned to one week for retrieval Appointment V/M’s done daily & throughout day
Other duties as needed/assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $23.43 per hour
