Starcon is seeking a Mechanical Planner for our maintenance site in Kingsport TN

Primary Function:

The right candidate will have a minimum of five years in the industry, with previous experience as a journey level mechanic preferred. You will be involved in planning maintenance work activities to ensure identification of all resources required to execute the work safely and in accordance with site objectives.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Planning mechanical, welding, and piping work scopes.
• Understanding all steps required to perform work scope
• Specialty equipment: i.e. crane, man lift, forklift availability.
• Scaffolding requirements
• Insulation requirements
• Operations: LOTO/drain/depressor
• Time needed to perform
• Effect on other equipment
• Parts availability
• Lead time to procure
• Time to replace or adjust
• Tap and drill new bolting

Skills and Experience:

• Ensure “Safety First” is integrated into all planned activities.
• Understand best practices regarding reliability and quality
• Project a professional attitude and appearance
• Willingness to adapt to new directions or different ways of performing work
• Ability to communicate with all levels, management, workers, and venders
• Able to work independently with little oversite (self-motivated)
• Strong time management skills
• Able to use or learn SAP to find parts
• Able to learn new planning software
• Ability to read drawings; ISO, Ortho, schematics, and manufactures instructions
• Ability to coordinate different crafts into a cohesive plan

Work Environment:

The normal work environment will be in an industrial facility where exposure to outdoor weather conditions is possible and where proper PPE is required for a variety of potential hazards.

Licenses/Clearances:

• Must have a valid driver’s license

Physical:

• Must comply with Starcon’s drug and alcohol policy
• Must be able to access work areas on ground and at elevations including the use of stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.
• Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment, when required.

Safety/Environmental:

• Must be able to pass applicable site-specific training. Knowledge of refinery and chemical plant hazards which may require special precautions and PPE, such as Sulfuric, H2S and HF.
• Must undertake the appropriate safety/environmental training commensurate with the position and location.
• Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, signs, labels and permits in English

Job Type: Full-time

Salary 50.00 to 55.00 hourly per diem 7/days
