Position Summary

This position is part of the Innovation Team, which is responsible for the invention, design, and development of new products and generational improvements to existing products. This position will work closely with other members of the Innovation Team to provide mechanical design and creative skills to create more functional, aesthetically pleasing, usable, and differentiated designs. This position will further provide technical skills to prototype and test the designs to validate the concept is valid.


*** This position can work Remote, Hybrid, or Onsite in the Neenah, WI office *** This position does require some training to be onsite in the Neenah, WI office during onboarding ***

Job Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the invention of new products to keep America's workplaces, job sites and our nation's highways safe and respectful.
  • Works closely with broader Innovation Team applying sound design principles to prototype, test, evaluate, and validate new designs with internal and external customers.
  • Creates design models, drawings, bill of materials, documents, and test plans.
  • Prototypes, validates, and troubleshoots designs, both internally and with partnered outside providers.
  • Uses rapid prototyping technologies including 3D printers and desktop CNCs to build prototypes
  • Works cross functionally to improve current product lines.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Associate's Degree in Mechanical Design with 4+ years of design experience.
  • Experience in product development team preferred.
  • Prior experience using 3D modeling design tools required, SolidWorks preferred.
  • Experience with 3D printing required CNC experience desirable.
  • Experience in the field of Industrial Design desirable.
  • Skilled at creating hand drawn, or computer-generated sketches to support the innovation cycle desirable.
  • Experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pl, or similar prototype platforms a plus.
  • Prior experience with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma a plus.

  • Self-directed and able to work effectively independently and within a team environment.
  • Possess a continuous improvement outlook and suggest, promote, and champion product changes.
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical ability, with the ability to critically review and interpret technical documentation.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and to meet key deadlines and manage changing priorities through effective time management skills.
  • Ability to translate abstract concepts into physical, testable prototypes.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to customer sites, vendor sites, and/or industry and training events may also be required, depending on assignment.

Keller provides a competitive benefit package which includes the following (eligibility requirements apply): Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) and Profit Sharing Plan, etc. The compensation range for this role is $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 which varies depending on factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s overall experience and geographic location.
