The Fleet Mechanic receives daily leadership support from the Fleet Manager under the Director of Corporate Operations and is responsible for a variety of fleet management tasks. We place an emphasis on candidates with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for asset management and maintenance system administration; including process improvement, reporting, and training.

  • Disassembling and reassembling engines and other components
  • Determine the status of service needed for various heavy and light construction equipment and preform necessary repairs and maintenance to restore equipment to proper operation
  • Provide expertise and assessment with parts and components of complex machinery and engines and small tools
  • Responsible for routine maintenance and repairs
  • Troubleshooting heavy equipment mechanics and identify problems, and provide solutions
  • Responsible for inspecting equipment and vehicles

Minimum qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, fuel and brake lines
• Previous experience in operating and repairing heavy equipment
• Ability to build relationships and provide customer service and user support
• Knowledge of company products and services
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple tasks
• Proven maintenance, repair and technical experience and background in industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance or military operations or maintenance
• Maintenance support includes operations, system troubleshooting, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair
• Proficient with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters
• Effectively applies industry and/or military standard troubleshooting procedures to isolate faulty system components
• Prior training and/or maintenance experience
• Ability to travel across Charge service territories is required
• Candidates must meet the government deployment requirements
• Pre-Employment Drug Screening

Desired background

• High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of experience in maintenance and repair
• Background in industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance or construction
• Preferred areas of experience may be with light or heavy duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, ground systems
• A technical background in the transportation industry with trucks, and/or fleet maintenance will be helpful
