ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the repair of electric motors, disassemble apparatus, and remove armatures, stators, or rotor from housing to prepare motor for final shipment. Install pole pieces and field coils per specifications. Braze/solder electrical connections of field coils and motor leads. Pack grease in the bearing housing, fit bearing to the armature/rotor shaft. Re-assemble motor to the required specifications for fit and clearance using hoist and/or manually. Fit carbon brushes to the curvature of the commutator or collector rings by sanding and/or with seating fixture. Pack grease in the bearing housing. Assemble external parts such as couplings, fans, and covers.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful. High school diploma or equivalent course work in skilled crafts or trades training.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Must be a hands-on person capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to use mechanical tools, electrical test equipment, measuring instruments, and be able to read blueprints. Must have braze or soldering experience. May require lifting of 50-100lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level is normal for a factory environment. The employee is working in a well-lit environment.

Abide by and conform to all company rules and policies. Follow all safety directives and work in a safe manner. Maintain good housekeeping standards around the workstation. Know, understand, and follow quality procedures. Accurately document your work as required by company procedures.
