GENERAL FUNCTION

The Materials Handler (VAS Tech) provides merchandise that is stored in the Distribution Center for distribution to new and existing customers. The Materials Handler works closely with the packing team to resolve issues and helps expedite high priority orders.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Train new associates (distribution clerks) on print and apply machines as well as SAP interface
• Utilize technical knowledge of hardware and printer configurations to troubleshoot and solve issues autonomously
• Processes merchandise/product per the established procedures.
• Prepares merchandise/product for customers.
• Prepares merchandise/product for shipment.
• Report picking discrepancies for root cause analysis.
• Helps coach and train new distribution clerks.
• Partners with assistant supervisors and/or supervisors to expedite high priority orders and ensure order accuracy.
• Completes projects as assigned by DC Supervisor and/or Manager.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year(s) of experience
• Excellent mathematical aptitude/numerical recognition
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as requested by Supervisors/Manager
• Ability to communicate/cooperate with DC associates
• Ability to interact professionally with both corporate and non-corporate personnel
• Ability to use material handling equipment (pallet jacks, carts, etc.)
• Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds
• Ability to work in a stand/walk position for up to 10 hours

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience in distribution center/warehouse
• Optical knowledge and/or experience in a production environment
