Job Location: San Diego, CA
Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and formulate new products in the broad fields of organic, inorganic and hybrid materials with various applications
• Maintain excellent laboratory records, and write reports and research summaries as required
• Interact closely with other scientists to develop comprehensive solutions
• Participate in intellectual property creation

Essential Job Requirements

• Ph.D. Degree in Material Science or related field and > 5 years industrial experience in an R&D setting.
• Strong background and hands-on experience/skills in composite materials such as oxide/polymer, metal/polymer.
• Strong background and hands-on experience/skills of process for composite materials
• Strong background for interaction between inorganic compound and polymer
• Strong background and hands-on experience/skills of surface chemistry of inorganic powders.
• Strong background and hands-on experience/skills of evaluation methods of composite materials
• Fundamental knowledge of heat transfer physics, thermodynamics
• Strong awareness of safety of chemicals and reactions, ability to handle materials that are sensitive to air, light, and moisture.
• Highly motivated and self-driven individual with the ability to work independently, and multi-task under aggressive/tight timeline to support team and corporate objectives

Preferred qualification

• Hands-on experience of chemical synthesis is very plus.
• Proven ability to follow detailed SOPs and perform analytical techniques such as SEM, XRD, FT-IR, TG-DSC, UV-Vis.
• Broad interests and willingness to take on relatively undefined challenges, excellent problem-solving abilities, creativity and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
