Eaton’s VEH Vehicle Group is currently seeking a Material Handler/Receiver . This position is based at our Carol Stream, IL location. The Material Handler/Receiver is responsible for supporting the Materials group to achieve plant distribution goals and sustain operational efficiency through material handling and receiving duties. This includes moving material throughout the facility to maintain proper flow, distribution, and accuracy of materials and supplies in the entire plant (inside/outside) and receiving materials when needed with occasional deliveries. The hourly rate for this position is $17 - $20 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do:
- Check materials and/or products to be shipped against a variety of documentation, including freight bills, packing slips, purchase orders, etc.
- Occasional delivery/driving materials
- Use a variety of hand trucking and weighing equipment.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of transactions.
- Load, receive and unload a variety of shipments from vehicles, using hand carts and fork trucks upon certification.
- Deliver parts and supplies to and from stocking areas.
- Inventory monitoring
Qualifications:
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Windows-based software
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
- Current driver’s license/ability to drive company van
- Prior experience operating fork trucks or other powered industrial vehicles. Upon hire, must pass forklift examination and operate forklift in a safe manner
- No relocation is available for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Carol Stream, IL facility will be considered
- Prior experience with the following software is helpful: Excel, Oracle, FCS, WMS, Premium Freight Database, UPS Website and Outlook
- Proficiency in inventory transaction integrity
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or assembly operation preferred
- Prior experience receiving materials
- Good problem-solving skills/Strong verbal communication skills/Strong teamwork skills
- Good attention to detail
- Able to follow-through on assigned tasks
Skills:
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis
- Able to stand and walk
- Operate lifting aids and/or overhead hoists to manipulate and move parts
- Be cross-trained and cover peers’ absences (including service packer)
- Assist in on-the-job training for new employees.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records by completing the forklift safety audit at the start of every shift
- Processing orders when needed
- Package, label, and seal a variety of containers.
