Summary: Drives electric powered industrial truck (forklift and/or pallet jack) equipped with lifting devices to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment or materials by performing the following duties:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include but not limited to the following

  • Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus
  • Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials, and transports load to designated area.
  • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
  • Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
  • Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
  • Communication with peers, management, and inventory department.
  • Follows policies and procedures.
  • Regular, punctual and predictable attendance.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must have basic computer skills and experience with inventory software.
  • Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced congested environment.
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment.


Education and/or Experience:
Must have High School Diploma or GED and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must complete and pass test for Material Handling Equipment certification after two (2) weeks of training. It is an OHSA requirement to be validated after company training.


Language / Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of hand held scanner for inventory movement and VMU’s (Vehicle Mounted Units). Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are required as well.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Food Safety & Quality:

  • Responsible for food safety and quality.
  • Shall complete an orientation process which provides training in the Key Concepts of Food Safety and Quality.
  • Shall understand that identification of any failures in these areas is their responsibility. If they identify a deficiency in Food Safety and/or Quality, they are responsible for taking corrective action and reporting the issue to their direct supervisor or Quality supervisor.
  • The Quality Manual is available to this employee on the shared Dickson Network drive.
  • Monitor production work methods to manage overall product to meet USDA and quality objectives.
  • Must wear proper PPE
  • Understand Allergens
  • Understand Component Specs
  • Follow SSOP’s and GMP’s
  • Basic Housekeeping and performs 5S Audits
  • Basic Organizational Skills
