Job description
Loads, unloads and moves materials within or near plant, yard or worksite, and accurately documents these activities as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Reads work orders or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
2. Loads and unloads product onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves and drums by hand as necessary.
3. Loads materials into trailers and installs bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
4. Enters receiving and movement information into the SOI business management system (WMS) according to current standard operating procedures.
5. Transfers materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
6. Attaches identifying tags or labels to incoming materials on cases, drums or other containers.
7. Records product movement and acknowledges receipt of shipments. Reports overages, shortages or shelf life issues to supervisor.
8. Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power industrial handling equipment, and cleans work areas,
machines, and equipment to assist machine operators as required.
9. Performs monthly warehouse inventory as required.
10. Other duties as required and/or assigned.
