ABOUT THE BUDA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (BEDC):
Established in 2001, the Buda Economic Development Corporation is a Type B Economic Development Corporation created under sections 501, 504, and 505 of the Texas Local Government Code. The Buda Economic Development Corporation is funded through a half-cent sales tax. The mission is to provide leadership in creating and pursuing balanced economic growth, by recruiting and retaining desirable, diverse businesses and developing infrastructure, while protecting the quality of life and natural resources in the region. The Buda Economic Development Corporation helps to grow the Buda economy by actively recruiting new retail, manufacturing, and office businesses to Buda, providing small business assistance and guidance, and working with existing Buda businesses by aiding with growth and expansion.

JOB SUMMARY
Working under the supervision of the Assistant Director, the Marketing Coordinator is a self-starter that leads the development and execution of the Buda EDC marketing strategy and supports a wide range of marketing programs. The marketing coordinator will create, coordinate, and manage the distribution of online and offline marketing content, social media channels, event promotion, and research & data.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Works collaboratively with various departments such as the City of Buda Communication & Tourism, Buda Area Chamber of Commerce, Greater San Marcos Partnership, Austin Chamber, and more.
Helps create brand guidelines and upholds processes.
Creates content to promote business in Buda.
Monitor and update social media accounts through photography/video and content creation.
Design promotional materials such as press releases, feature stories, blogs, newsletters, RFPs, presentations, proposals, and resource guides.
Manages the BEDC website.
Maintain and update multiple contact lists in our CRM.
Monitor, analyze and report metrics and trends to keep us top of the mind of businesses and the community.
Planning and executing meetings and events.
Organizes material for the Board meeting

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor"s degree in Marketing, Media, Advertising, Business, Public Relations, or related field and a minimum of two years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Exercise independent judgment and initiative to carry out job functions without direct supervision or instruction.
Work effectively under time constraints to meet deadlines and manage several different tasks concurrently; work with accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience creating exceptional copy and content
Love of details and able to proofread and edit
Ability to use the creative part of their mind
Knowledge and experience in marketing, advertising, or graphic design
Proficient in design platforms such as Canva and Photoshop
Proficient in communicating with the public, other city employees, professional services, and media to gather and provide information.
Ability to maintain an effective and pleasant working relationship.
Ability to work well under pressure and stress; meet deadlines; plan, organize and prioritize multiple work assignments while keeping excellent communication.
Ability to remain flexible and open to new ideas and encourages others to value change and accommodate changing priorities.
Ability to make effective decisions without constant supervision.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Skill in effective communications, team player, flexible, problem solver, accepts feedback, good listener, possesses confidence and creative thinking.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is sedentary and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and the following physical abilities: fingering, hearing, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to changing goals, priorities, and needs.

REQUIRED LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Current State of Texas Class ‘C" Driver"s License required
Basic Economic Development Course completed within 6 months of start through our professional development funding

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to develop and maintain good personal and effective working relationships with others, including County, State, and Federal agencies, other employees, civic groups, City of Buda and BEDC staff, BEDC Board of Directors, City Council members, and the public. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Regular organizational business hours are Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. This position may be required to work some evening and weekend meetings/events as requested; this should be a rare occasion.
