Tweetsie Railroad is a family-friendly Wild West theme park located in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. The park features two historic steam locomotives, live entertainment, classic amusement rides, panning for gold, gem mining and the Deer Park Zoo. Our staff work together as a team and enjoy that every day is an adventure!

MARKETING ASSISTANT

Full Time – Year Round – Seasonal Schedule (weekdays, weekends and some evenings to cover special events.)

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the marketing team in implementation and evaluation of Tweetsie Railroad’s strategic marketing plan and public relations programs.
• Work with marketing team to manage the Tweetsie Railroad brand.
• Coordinating group reservations.
• Maintaining customer database, online ticketing system, and promotional reports.
• Managing corporate and lodging partnerships.
• Assisting with Special Events inside and outside the park. Including Letterland and School Days.
• Assist with social media monitoring and website content.
• Organize and manage marketing collateral.

Skills / Qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High level of organization and attention to detail
• Comfort with multi-tasking in a deadline-driven environment
• Understanding of basic business and marketing concepts
• Excellent time management skills
• Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and social abilities
• Familiarity with social media, social networking, email marketing and search engines
• Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong writing and copy-editing abilities

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with database management (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, POS) and Microsoft Word or Google Docs
• Demonstrated experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest)
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign) a plus
• Digital photography and video editing experience a plus
