Kings View is a nonprofit leader in providing behavioral health services to the underserved community, is currently seeking a driven MAP Navigator to join our mission to provide compassionate services to those with limited resources. The MAP Navigator will administer the Community Screening Tool and the VI-SPDAT to the client, develop a linkage plan and then arrange a warm hand off to required services. Navigators will work collaboratively with other service providers as well as faith-based supports for the long term sustainability of wellness and recovery for the client. They are knowledgeable about community resources and best practices and provide case management of the client through the MAP system.

How will I contribute

• Utilizing best practices, will engage clients in completion of the Community Screening Tool and/or VI-SPDAT so that proper linkages may occur.
• Provide advocacy, linkage and support to clients to assist them in accessing assistance for basic needs.
• Monitor the client’s progress through the linkage process determining any barriers to access and eliminating them.
• Must have experience in case management and linkage for individuals that suffer from a variety of issues such as: severe mental illness, co-occurring disorders, physical illness, unemployment, homelessness, etc.
• Work side by side with clients and staff in a way that they feel supported and heard.
• Ability to cultivate resources and services for clients that supports the transition from homelessness to sustainability.
• Ability to engage the client in a way that supports the transition from a sense of hopelessness to sustainability.
• Understanding of the complexities of working with co-occurring clients and the required patience to do so.
• Excellent understanding of the available resources in the community that provide housing, food, clothing, obtaining needed documentation and legal services, mental health services, addiction services and faith based as well as natural supports.
• Excellent working relationships with faith based entities as well as treatment providers, community based organizations and County staff.

What I bring

• Class C Driving Requirements
• Good presentation skills, excellent oral and written communication.
• Ability to work in tandem with other team members to provide a welcoming and safe environment where consumers can access a wide variety of linkages and services.
• Must meet employment eligibility requirements as established by the program’s funding agency.
