JOB PURPOSE

Technicians assist in the manufacturing process by working the production line as instructed; utilizing specialized machinery, tools, and equipment; finalizing and packaging products for shipment; and adhering strictly to health and safety guidelines. The ideal team member will maintain production standards and work towards improving efficiency without compromising quality.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Execute assembly-type functions using hand and/or power tools and perform related duties, as assigned
• Perform simple machine maintenance and repairs, as required
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
• Strictly adhere to prescribed safety regulations and wear proper safety attire to maintain a safe and accident-free workspace
• Read and understand instruction manuals for operating equipment and machinery
• Operate various pieces of equipment and machinery
• Package completed items for shipping
• Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues
• Keep records of material and equipment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years’ experience in a fabricating shop
• Fabrication certificate from a trade school (preferred)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to hold others accountable to effective performance
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to read, understand, and follow documented processes and procedures
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to perform basic math computations and computer data entry
• Ability to use measuring devices, hand tools, and power tools
• Ability to lift 60 pounds, climb a ladder up to 15 feet high, and walk and stand throughout entire shift
• Ability to repetitively:
  • Pinch and grasp hand tools
  • Twist, bend, and reach upward
  • Handle small screws, washers, fasteners, etc.
• Work well independently and with a group on collaborative projects
• Ability to take direction and instruction
