Our Taneytown, MD Pump Manufacturing facility is over 150,000 square feet and provides capability for engineering, design, customer service, machining, assembly, and testing for a diverse product portfolio, which serves all markets (power, oil & gas, water resources, general industry, and chemical). The facility has expanded four times since opening in 1971 to accommodate revenue growth and product line developments. The entire project lifecycle is experienced all under the same roof.

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager & Facilities will have responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance teams along with general site/facility responsibilities. Develop and implement improved processes and procedures. Motivate, challenge and develop bench strength to ensure continuous skill and performance improvement. Interact with leaders throughout the organization to ensure the manufacturing organization plans and priorities are aligned with the Company’s operating and strategic goals and objectives.

Functions:

  • Ensure that all safety and health procedures and policies are followed, and all Flowserve guidelines are implemented toward creating and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace
  • Establish and achieve maintenance budgets to keep equipment running at peak performance
  • Assesses cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; makes and implements recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Provides guidance and oversight in development and execution of plant renovations and expansions, coordinates outside contractors and vendors.
  • Design manufacturing processes, tools, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance and training for production equipment
  • Implement development plans and succession planning for all key team members. Identify training needs and work to make training available
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and actively champion improvement projects using lean practitioner tools
  • Maintain a positive relationship and drive improved employee health and engagement
  • Develop and implement capital spending plans that meet the ongoing needs of the business for facilities, equipment, and productivity improvements
  • Conduct business in professional and ethical manner consistent with the Flowserve Code of Conduct

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience with 5+ years of managing manufacturing engineering, facilities, maintenance, or related departments
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing budgets and schedules, Cap Ex plans and organizational planning and development
  • Proven track record of identifying and improving critical KPIs
  • Ability to multi-task and work with little direction is required to be able to demonstrate a high level of sustained initiative that will be required to track, monitor and adhere to tactical and strategic business plans, forecasts, and initiatives
  • Ability to implement Lean manufacturing practices leading to measurable improvement in operational performance
  • Excellent leadership, management, communication and customer and vendor interface skills
  • English language proficiency

Preferred:

  • MBA Degree
  • Proficient in widely used business software, CAD and engineering systems, ERP/MRP systems
  • Additional language proficiency
