Position Description*
Manager will serve as a member of the Volunteer Management team to deliver a ‘Best-in-Class’ constituent experience through recruiting and managing volunteer sources as well as deepening the JA individual on-site experience. Responsible for building relationships with individual advocates and volunteer partner sources that continue to support JA of Georgia programmatic needs. Primarily, this will be at the JA Discovery Center at Gwinnett. JA volunteers bring authenticity and relevancy to programs by infusing their own experiences, knowledge, and skills within the curriculum to develop a generation of financially capable and empowered students. JA currently has over 200+ corporate, higher education institutions, community, and school partners across Georgia.

Primary Responsibilities*
Volunteer Management

  • Lead volunteer check-in & deliver volunteer welcome daily to all volunteers at the JA Discovery Center at Gwinnett.
  • Enhance and create new processes designed to exceed JA of Georgia volunteer expectations before, during and after a volunteer experience.
  • Establish an individual recruitment plan to build and retain volunteer relationships.
  • Responsible for Volunteer Management systems, Volunteer Calendar, and daily reports across JA Programs.
  • Work with Director, Volunteer Partnerships and Experience to follow strategy around recruiting, managing & growing volunteer accounts (corporate, community, college sources).
  • Recruit, manage, and steward all school-based volunteers in collaboration with Education Teammate.
  • Collaborate with Education, Operations, and Development teams to ensure stewardship of all on-site constituents (primarily volunteers).

Constituent Management*

  • Responsible for updating shared documents to reflect volunteer dates and volunteer status.
  • Prepare and train educators on volunteer expectations and best practices, including but not limited to creating and distributing marketing materials to school district educators.
  • Responsible for tracking, maintaining, and sharing on-site volunteer data.
  • Receive confirmed volunteer partners from Director, Volunteer Partnerships and Experience 30 days prior to volunteering; continued stewardship by moving the individuals forward in the process (assisting with registrations, answering questions, making recruitment recommendations, etc).
  • Initiate individual recruitment communication regularly filling short-term volunteer gaps in calendar.
  • Lead communication around logistics, expected volunteers, special accommodations and other important information to all involved groups.
  • Help influence JA processes to deliver a “raving fan” experience for every student, volunteer, educator, and guests that come through the JA Discovery Center at Gwinnett.
  • Drive the gathering of on-site deliverables needed to fulfill grant requirements.

Qualifications: Education & Experience*
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years’ work experience
  • High level of customer service
  • Self-motivated and highly dependable
  • Ability to quickly build & sustain relationships in a variety of settings
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Strong presentation and computer skills
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment

  • 2+ years in customer service/sales/development positions.
