Manager Sustainability and Management Systems

Mobility is the goal

The Manager, Sustainability and Management Systems provides strategic leadership across a portfolio of Environmental Social Governance (ESG) areas including climate, waste, sustainability, social programs, and corporate governance. This individual will work with the Executive Leadership to develop and affect an ESG strategy, objectives, and action plan. This role will assist in the development of governance of sustainability policies, standardized procedures and performance, and lead a cross-departmental Sustainability Steering Committee. The position will also be responsible for developing and managing the companies Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and Safety Management Systems (SMS), and to obtain or retain the companies ISO Management System certifications. Travel 40 to 60% leading or participating in Internal Management System Audits.

  • Subject matter expert on reporting with strong understanding of the role of Sustainability data and Management System Standards. Conduct benchmarking assessments to assess ESG maturity against peers, and customer, and other stakeholder expectations.
  • Lead the Schindler Sustainability Committee, including Agenda and content creation, Meeting planning and facilitation.
  • Educate and engage leadership, employees, customers, suppliers and other key stakeholders on company ESG strategy, goals and progress.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments and external vendors/suppliers to consolidate data for cohesive and complete Sustainability reporting utilizing SPHERA Sustainability Reporting Tool (SRT).
  • Lead development, implementation and maintenance of EMS to achieve ISO14001 certification at additional sites and the development, implementation and maintenance of SMS to achieve ISO45001 certifications at all SEC locations.
  • Stay current on emerging trends, issues, best practices, and regulations.

Mobility needs you

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum), with preferably a masters, in topics such as environmental science, corporate sustainability and business management.
  • Understanding of Environmental, Social and Governance.
  • Certified Lead Auditor of ISO 14001 and 45001 Management Systems.
  • Implemented or maintained Quality Management Systems, drove ISO certification and/or maintained certifications.
  • Familiarity with the global ESG regulatory landscape preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written along with professional presentations skills, including the ability work with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
