GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Assist in maintaining guest rooms, guest pools and pool areas, building and equipment throughout the hotel.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school or equivalent education required.

• Basic knowledge of general repairs and maintenance

• Ability to maintain and/or obtain any government required licenses, certificates or permits

• Basic knowledge of chemical handling

• Previous hospitality experience preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform general repairs and services in all maintenance related disciplines, including but not limited to: carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, minor electrical, finish work, painting etc.

• Complete daily assigned tasks from project list

• Work closely with contractors on repairs and capital projects

• Maintain preventative maintenance on in-house equipment

• Understand hotel policies and departmental processes and follow them accordingly

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

• Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards

• Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special guest requests

• Assist other maintenance associates in maintaining clean and organized work areas and public areas

• Enforce hotel safety standards

• Perform other duties and handle projects as assigned by management

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Lifting of 40lbs or greater and ability to push and pull up to 250lbs

• Bend, squat and lift up to 15lbs or more on a continuing basis

• Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time

• Manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment

• Must be able to work in a stressful, high-pressure, fast-paced environment

• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
