Shift: 2nd shift

Position Summary:

This person is primarily responsible for leading and assisting with maintenance of Company equipment and facilities.

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

Performs skilled maintenance and repair services of facility systems such as mechanical, electrical, and building systems. Interpret blueprints and schematics.

Maintains production equipment as necessary. Includes adjusting brakes and/or replacing motors, transformers, contactor cranes, laser equipment and programing etc. Involves lifting metal parts up to 40 pounds and occasional overhead work.

Repairs welding equipment as necessary. Includes adjusting or replacing PC boards, transformers, compactors, welding leads, ground cables, wire feeders, etc.

Maintains fabrication machinery to include scheduled PMs and reporting as well as data entry.

Maintains paint equipment as necessary. Includes repairing paint pumps, high-pressure lines, agitators, and air lines. Cleans line filters, etc. Includes paint system training.

Maintains daily upkeep of buildings and grounds. Includes plumbing repairs, filling potholes, adjusting bay doors, etc.

Maintains upkeep of forklifts as necessary. To include PM tracking and data entry.

Performs preventative maintenance duties to company vehicles as required.

Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.

Maintains upkeep of diesel fuel pumps and hydraulic filter systems. This includes data collection and system capacity. Supplier contact is critical to this task.

Repairs heating/cooling system in office, as necessary. To include computer monitoring, operation of computer control system.

Repairs air compressors in plant, as necessary. Includes scheduling routine PMs and reporting as well as draining system, checking oil, draining water, and starting dryers.

Repairs and upkeep of heating systems throughout the facility to include all paint booths.

Maintains upkeep of cranes and overhead hoists. To include data collection and reporting.

Troubleshoots and repairs electrical, hydraulic and mechanical equipment, as necessary.

General and Advance Electrical work throughout the plant. To include the understanding of electrical systems. Must be able to read and understand electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics.

Observes all safety regulations and reports any unsafe working conditions to department supervisor or management. To include participation in Environmental and Safety Training as needed.

Attendance at work, including presence at work during regular working hours or other schedule as may be assigned by the department manager, is essential. Acceptance of overtime assignments may also be required in order to meet departmental goals and objectives and support production requirements.

Occasionally drives company vehicle for company business. Must have a valid driver’s license and a “good driving record” as defined by Alabama law.

Occasionally performs maintenance duties in front office. Includes installing lighting, electrical outlets, computer cable, telephone wiring, etc.

Maintains cleanliness and order of work area, equipment and tools.

Maintenance Class II position must have 5 years minimum experience in the Industrial Maintenance Profession or minimum of 3 years and achievement of a grade on the Maintenance Class A Test within the recommended classification rage. Testing is administered based on needs of the Company and employee’s request.

Requirements:

Education: Requires a High School diploma or GED. Candidate must be a certified electrician.

Experience: Maintenance Class II position must have 5 years minimum experience in the Industrial Maintenance Profession or minimum of 3 years and achievement of a grade on the Maintenance Class A Test within the recommended classification rage. Testing is administered based on needs of the Company and employee’s request.

Knowledge: Requires ability to understand general arithmetic; ability to write in an understandable manner; understand verbal or written instructions; ability to read and understand instructions, lists and billing materials; use PC based applications, including Leading2Lean CMMS Software, Outlook, and Microsoft Office, knowledge normally acquired through high school or equivalent experience. Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.

Mental: Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to operate machinery approximately 25% of time.

Physical: Requires walking/standing approximately 70%, lifting up to 40 pounds approximately 15% of time; involves repetitive overhead work approximately 10% of time; involves repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 5% of time.

Manual Dexterity: Requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate all manufacturing equipment, meters, chains hoists, automatic drills and general hand tools and to record written information.

Audible Demands: Requires ability to follow verbal instructions and to hear for safety purposes.

Visual: Requires the ability to visually observe essential functions for satisfactory job performance and safety; color and depth perception required.

Environmental: Exposure to plant environments with the presence of dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures due to lack of climate control.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist in creation of new designs and execution of design changes of varying degrees of complexity by ensuring that performance parameters are met while meeting quality targets during launch. This is accomplished by working with ANSI requirements; BOMs, drawings, engineering change process, product development process, product specifications, and product literature for on-highway vocational mobile equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

Support Product Development Engineers responsible for implementing new product designs and modifications for commercial vehicles, which will improve quality, cost, and overall customer value. This will be accomplished through active participation in cross-functional teams which are focused at identifying, coordinating, and prioritizing internal and external customer needs.

Assist engineering team in support of daily production issue resolution.

Assist in research of new product components and materials.

Assist in developing and performing lab test for new product verification.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, or related engineering degree considered as applicable.

Good application skills of Microsoft Office tools, such as Excel, Word, Outlook etc.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential.
