About this Role

This position will work under the direction of the Facility Director to ensure maintenance of our YMCA facility.


We’re looking for someone great!

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC and electrical work.
  • Ability to follow schedules and deadlines to meet the needs of various YMCA programs.
  • Ability written instructions in the absence of direct supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills.
  • Capable of performing basic math calculations, including fractions and decimals.
  • Extremely reliable, dependable, and punctual; can work independently and within a team.
  • A criminal background check is required and may include fingerprinting through the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), prior to hire. This will be paid for by the YMCA of Southern Maine.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Operations & Safety - Ensures the health and wellbeing of all at the YMCA through preventative facility maintenance and timely and effective repairs. Provides rapid and timely response to all accidents, situations, incidents and emergencies appropriately, calmly and professionally using proper techniques and completes incident reports as needed. Complies with all OSHA safety practices. Supports equipment repair, proper handling of pool chemicals, floor care, snow removal and other duties as assigned.
  • Data Tracking & Documentation –Maintains accurate and consistent maintenance logs, inventory and completes all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.

Salary

Starting at $20/hour, depending on experience.
