Maintenance Technician

Job purpose

We are seeking a reliable maintenance technician / handyman to work with our team on residential military-housing projects near DMV (primarily Andrews Air Force Base and Fort Belvoir.)

Duties and responsibilities

The primary duty for this position is to perform Change of Occupancy services when a tenant moves out. Technicians must be able to perform (or be able to quickly learn) the following tasks:

• Drywall repair (less than one sheet) and texturing
• Painting and Caulking, both Interior and Exterior
• Power Washing
• Inspect interior plumbing fixtures
• Replace plumbing parts or fixtures as necessary
• Snake drains
• Inspect interior electrical fixtures
• Replace electrical parts, switches or fixtures as necessary
• Replace all batteries (detectors, garage doors, etc.)
• Inspect HVAC system
• Replace HVAC parts or fixtures as necessary
• Replace air filters
• Clean ducts as necessary
• Inspect all doors, windows, and blinds and replace as necessary
• Inspect all flooring and make minimal repairs if necessary
• Steam clean carpets as necessary
• Inspect all appliances and replace or repair as necessary
• Coordinate or assist with final cleaning of units
• Executes daily checks of vehicles, equipment, and expendables
• Safely and responsibly operates vehicles, tools, and equipment
• Assists in the site inspection, diagram, and photo documentation of the site. Update project documentation during each subsequent visit to a project

Qualifications

• Must be authorized to work in the United States as a W-2 Employee
• Must be willing to submit a background check and have no history of felonies (required for base-access)
• 3 to 5 years minimum experience preferred
• Ability to safely lift 50 pounds
• Must speak English proficiently
• Must have a valid driver’s license. Good driving record with no at-fault accidents
• Must be able to drive to various projects in Maryland, DC, and Virginia
