Mid-Continent Engineering is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our 1st Shift.

Mid-Continent has been a supplier to first-tier OEMs within the medical, aerospace and defense industries for decades. Mid-Continent Engineering stuffs the armed forces supply chain with products of our capabilities such as precision machining, aerospace welding, chromate conversion, paint/powder coat finishing, mechanical assemblies, and other design-assist services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs maintenance of all production equipment, and building, with little or no supervision, using new and existing methods, policies, and procedures to assist with production and shipment of product.
  • Performs work of complex and detailed nature.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Follows lockout tag out procedures and all other company safety policies.
  • Assures and maintains a consistent, acceptable level of individual quality and performance.
  • May be required to work in other departments or on other shifts or at our other facility, as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Assists in the training of new employees.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Assists in the storage, disposal, and handling of all hazardous materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Complete monthly preventative maintenance on the machines and equipment.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow complex instructions and a thorough understanding of electronic and mechanical drawings or schematics.
  • Self-directed and able to stay on task
  • Ability to identify problems and offer and or apply resolution(s).
  • Organized and detailed-oriented.
  • Effective written and verbal communications.
  • Must have Machine maintenance schooling or at least 5 years on the job experience.
  • Must be willing to split time between our Minneapolis and Ham Lake facility.
  • Knowledgeable in CNC controls and trouble shooting.
  • Mechanical ability to change out ball screws, spindles, bearings, chip conveyors and other complex machine parts.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Ability to read and use indicators.
  • HVAC experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $36.00 per hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Programmable logic controllers: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Mechanical knowledge: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Blueprint reading: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Schematics: 5 years (Preferred)
  • HVAC: 5 years (Preferred)
  • CNC: 5 years (Preferred)
