Maintenance Technician (Plymouth)

Residential-apartment complex seeks maintenance technician for full-time position offering career opportunities. Primary responsibilities include performing maintenance functions on complex, including residential areas, grounds, parking lots, and office area. Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sanitary systems and equipment. Ensuring all services are performing safely and results in favorable resident feedback.

Essential Functions:

Duties include: cleaning, painting, interior/exterior decorating, and maintenance, lawn care, snow-removal, replacement of lights, plumbing, electrical work, roof repairs, appliance evaluation and repair

• Participate in turnover of apartments, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and VCT installation, ensuring the work is done in an efficient and timely manner
• Respond to all resident request service calls as directed by Maintenance Supervisor
• Install and repair appliances in units as required
• Regularly assess the property for safety and loss prevention
• Repair and fabricate windows and door screens and frames
• Remove damaged drywall, floor tile, sheet vinyl ceramic floor tile and plywood as directed
• Safely operate power blowers or brooms to remove leaves and debris from sidewalks and driveways
• Be available to respond to emergency maintenance repairs, after normal working hours and able to respond back to property immediately after receiving notification
• When required, be available to respond to weather and environmental related emergencies such as snow storms, hurricanes, flooding and fires
• Demonstrate respect and regard for all residents, families, visitors, vendors and fellow employees to ensure al professional, responsible, and courteous environment
• Complete and submit required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
• Perform all other duties assigned

Job Requirements:

• Must be hard working and proactive
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have at least 2 years of experience in Maintenance Field
• Must live within a half an hour of the site
• Must have current vehicle license in good standing and meet the driving records standard
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Basic tools
• References
• Hydraulic license a plus

Anticipated Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. Candidate must be flexible and able to work rotating on-call schedule and overtime and weekends if necessary
