What you will do

As a Maintenance/Process Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating, maintaining, and improving all equipment and manufacturing processes at our facility. Implementing and managing preventive, & corrective maintenance are required. This position will lead improvement initiatives based on equipment record keeping [KPI]. Coaching manufacturing staff and machine operators how to properly maintain equipment through education and preventive maintenance best practices. Additionally, this position will lead activity to reduce equipment down time and maintenance costs with focused kaizen activity. Communicate plans, expectations & results with all levels within the organization.

This role will lead process optimization investigation and improvement implementation activities. Organize and lead process layout modifications and new equipment installations.

You will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager - Joulin, Vacuum Automation division, and the position is based in Hickory, NC. In this role, you will work closely with the other members of the technical team and other departments central to the company as well as representatives of Piab. You are required to act accordingly to the Piab Code of Conduct and know and follow the Piab values, mission, and routines.

Skills, Experience, and Educational Background

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering – mechanical or mechatronics
• 3 years of relevant experience
• A strong background in identifying improvements within the manufacturing process
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
• Effective communication skills: verbal and written
• Knowledge in Vacuum handling systems is a plus
