HPP Food Services is a leading toll processor for fresh food/beverage products that are manufactured for High Pressure Processing. The company has an amazing opportunity with benefits for a Maintenance Technician in the Buena Park area. The maintenance mechanic is responsible for the preventive maintenance of the production machinery to ensure the correct operation of the factory and the mechanical equipment. It is also responsible for the maintenance of buildings and mechanical systems, such as heating and cooling systems. Maintenance mechanics divide their time between repair, maintenance and installation of system components and office hours. The maintenance mechanic position conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.

Essential Functions

1. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

2. Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.

3. Computer skills: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook.

4. Ability to perform basic repair to equipment, identify mechanical problems and make the appropriate repair before equipment failures in a timely manner.

5. Ability to understand equipment manuals in order to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

6. Ability to run new electrical circuits and move existing runs to different location.

7. Ability to perform general construction and building repair such as floor repair, concrete work, painting, drywall repair, building repair and rack repair.

8. Ability to troubleshoot PLC’s.

9. Ability to install, unclog and repair plumbing lines and add new lines to existing systems.

10. Ability to install, examine, inspect, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures PLC and pipe, and electrical systems.

11. Repair or fabricate parts as needed.

12. Complying with GMP policies of the company to ensure food safety as one of the essential functions.

Provision of Coverage

In the occasion(s) when the Maintenance Mechanic is absent, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for maintaining SQF requirements.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the tasks of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to low temperatures ranging from 35 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit, fumes or particles in the air, moving mechanical parts and vibrations in the establishment's infrastructure. The noise level in the work environment can be high.

Required Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or GED.

2. Two or more years of related experience in packing machines/production machines.

3. Previous experience in food manufacturing.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
