Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Division: Operations Strategic Business Unit

Department: Tompkinsville Maintenance

Reports To: Plant Manager

Summary: Oversees the direction, coordination, and development of the Maintenance Department, ensuring the safe operation, repair, maintenance, and installation of all facility equipment, to include machines, tools, buildings, grounds, and utility systems by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Implement approved repair and/or capital projects including project engineering, design, and budgetary administration consistent with the authorized budget and schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

1. Manages, communicates, and conducts behavior in direct support of company foundation and pillars.*

2. Ensure implementation and adherence to best practices for preserving safe asset functionality, reliability and integrity*

3. Develop and implement standards and processes to improve safety, quality and productivity

4. Ensure all members of the department are trained, developed and able to perform their tasks safely in a timely manner. Coach and discipline when needed.*

5. Responsible for managing the maintenance budget, improving effectiveness of the maintenance department through complex analysis of available data and for overall efficiency of the site’s assets

6. Maintain appropriate maintenance documentation and repair logs

7. Maintain, troubleshoot and repair all machinery and power units on site, including Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic components. Repair electric hand tools and motors. Light fabrication included, cutting and welding.

8. Manage and improving KPI’s. (Unplanned technical downtime, Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Maintenance cost per MSF, etc.)

9. Collaborate with Facility Managers and Shift Supervisors to create programs & plans to ensure that the proper machine care, calibrations, and crew safety are followed

10. Support major initiatives aiming at process improvement, raw material utilization and loss eliminations. (Waste & Asset efficiency)

11. Serve as both a process and project coordinator for the department around the development, implementation, and assessment of all maintenance projects, installs and upgrades.

12. Lead the department in execution of assigned projects while maintaining the budget, forecasts, and timelines

13. Ensure operational efficiency of the equipment through the development of an effective TPM, PM & condition-based monitoring programs. Empower the crews to maintain their equipment safely and effectively.

14. Lead CAPEX plans for facility

15. Develop the ‘Reliability Engineer’ function responsible for using analytical and KPI reports for analyzing failures and adjusting maintenance schedules with the purpose of improving reliability

16. Support the development of CAPEX’s for Capital projects thru collaboration with the Management team

17. Travels as necessary, up to 25%, to assist with training, auditing and various administrative functions.

18. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct Management of the Maintenance Staff

Primary Function Qualifications

Direct experience with management / supervision of personnel and team leadership. Experience with electricity up to 480V, Motor Control Circuits and VFD Controllers. Experience with powered roller conveyor systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Sawmill experience preferred. PLC experience is a plus; programming is not required.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer programs and functions to include Microsoft Office, email, inventory software, payroll systems, and human resources systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $120,000.00 per year
