Job Classifica/on: Regular Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Job Rela/onships: Reports to the Facility and Maintenance Supervisor. Supervises volunteers and
contractors as assigned.

  • Helps to maintain tool, housekeeping and maintenance supply inventories and regularly advises the
Facility and Maintenance Supervisor of inventory levels. Assists with supply purchasing as directed
  • AZends meeBngs in the absence of the Supervisor as well as other meeBngs as directed
  • Responds quickly and professionally to maintenance situaBons and emergencies in absence of
Supervisor
  • ParBcipates effecBvely as a team member through communicaBon, cooperaBon, informaBon sharing

and problem solving
• Serves as backup for assigned duBes in the absence of the Supervisor
• Other duBes as assigned

Job Qualifica/ons:
Educa/on/Experience: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. A minimum of 1 year of work experience in
general, plus at least 6 months experience in an applicable role including hands-on general maintenance.
Experience working with contracted and/or volunteer workers a plus as is experience with groundskeeping and
landscape irrigaBon systems.

Knowledge: Knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment and grounds keeping. Knowledge of maintenance safety
requirements and programs as well as applicable OSHA requirements is a plus.

Skills and Abili/es: Basic math abiliBes. EffecBve and professional communicaBon skills. Ability to work
independently and on a team, problem-solve quickly and complete tasks in a Bmely and efficient manner. Solid
communicaBon and general computer skills required including, but not limited to, Micro-Soc suite. Able to
establish and maintain organized work and storage areas. Able to work a flexible schedule as required and able to
work around all types of companion and small barn animals. EffecBve and appropriate customer service,
interpersonal and emoBonal intelligence skills are essenBal. Must have work ethic and integrity skills. Able to use
good judgment and the OrganizaBon’s resources effecBvely and responsibly. Ability to see distance and space
relaBonships, see peripherally and to disBnguish and idenBfy different colors. Hearing and speaking abiliBes
required for safe interacBon with animals and people. Eye, hand and foot coordinaBon to perform duBes and
operate equipment. Ability to use hands, fingers and sight to complete precise tasks. Ability to adhere to
confidenBality, behavior and conduct, and aZendance and punctuality expectaBons. Ability to work at heights.

Other: Must be at least 18 years of age for insurance purposes. Must have and maintain valid Colorado Driver’s
License and Colorado compliant vehicle insurance. Must have and maintain an insurable driving record in
accordance with the Society’s insurance provider’s requirements.

Working Condi/ons and Physical Ac/vi/es:
Work is performed in mulBple areas including animal areas, office areas, barn and storage areas and outdoors.
PotenBal for exposure to all weather condiBons. PotenBal for being outside for up to 8 hours or more per day.
PotenBal for working in small and/or confined areas such as crawl spaces, in wet areas and at heights on ladders
and lics, and on roof areas. PotenBal for exposure to zoonoBc diseases and cleaning and groundskeeping
chemicals and potenBal for exposure to dangerous and fracBous animals. Exposure to high noise levels when in
kennel areas. Exposure to hay. Physical acBviBes include standing on feet for 8 or more hours a day; Driving a
vehicle, including a truck or van; Kneeling, squafng, crouching, bending and working on hands and knees; Working
with hands and fingers and performing repeBBve moBons, reaching, pushing and pulling. Climbing stairs and
ladders; Listening and speaking; Using power and hand tools, safety equipment and landscaping equipment
including a riding mower. Eye, hand and foot coordinaBon required for tool operaBon. Frequent licing and
carrying of up to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier amounts with assistance. AddiBonal equipment used
includes UTV/plow, lawn mower, floor surface scrubber, spreader, weed-wacker, sprayer, hand tools and more.
