Waltrad is seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our team and support the Maintenance Technicians. The Maintenance Assistant will play a crucial role in assisting with various maintenance tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and facilities. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented team player with a willingness to learn.

- Weekly pay: Day $20.00/hr, Night shift $21.00/hr.
- No prior knowledge or experience is required. Provide training.
- 12-hour shift with 3-day/4-day alternating schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Maintenance Technicians with daily maintenance tasks, including but not limited to equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance procedures to ensure equipment and facilities are in optimal working condition.
- Help maintain an organized inventory of tools, spare parts, and equipment to ensure the availability and efficient use of resources.
- Assist with equipment installations, relocations, and modifications as directed by the Maintenance Technicians.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment to minimize accidents and hazards.
- Collaborate with other team members to identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes and contribute to implementing solutions.
- Provide support during scheduled maintenance shutdowns or emergencies, including outside of regular working hours, if required.
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and stay updated with best practices.
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of tools.
- Ability to effectively use hand and power tools common to maintenance tasks.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and report maintenance activities accurately.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training is plus but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in a maintenance-related role or familiarity with maintenance procedures is preferred but not required.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy in work.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects and performing manual labor as needed.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a maintenance or industrial environment.
