PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE | JOB DESCRIPTIONSUMMARY
At Magnolia, the Production Associate is responsible for executing recipes in the quantities and priorities set by Magnolia Kitchen management, including baking, icing, prepping, cooking, dishwashing, and cleaning. This position works from Magnolia Kitchen in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Kitchen Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Uphold Magnolia’s manifesto and values
- Follow written instructions for all recipes, adhering to Magnolia standards of quality and sanitation
- Ensure the highest standards of product quality and alert management to the need to make adjustments to processes as required
- Maintain a clean working environment at all times and maintain appropriate storage of all utensils and supplies
- Handle, prepare, and store food in ways that prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure compliance with all food safety standards
- Ensure kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
- Participate in all meetings and training sessions to ensure current knowledge of kitchen operations
- Assist in training and development of team members
- Complete production sheets and other records as required
- Finish all opening and closing duties as instructed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Hard skills: Demonstrated basic baking/cooking knowledge, high standard of cleanliness and organization
- Soft skills: Strong verbal communication skills; ability to multitask while maintaining a positive team environment; high level of ownership, initiative, and accountability
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Experience: 1+ years of related work experience preferred
- Special training or licenses/certifications: Food Handler's license required upon hire
- General availability: Must be available to work weekends as business needs require
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role routinely uses sinks and kitchen appliances. The employee is frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, and cleaning chemicals. The employee is exposed to hot and cold temperatures. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
