Job Description

SUMMARY

The co-op student will gain exposure to and be involved with the Daily P&L, expense processing, account reconciliations, and related SOX compliance. The role will also include the analysis of fixed and variable costs, and ensuring department managers understand and receive information regarding cost. This role will provide support in performing accounts analysis and reconciliation work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation and reporting of fixed and variable costs, including working with department managers to track and report costs and ESH.
  • Support finance team with data analysis, responding to financial inquires, reporting and decision support as needed.
  • Month end close support through GL entry compilation
  • Review and prepare various prepaid and accruals as necessary
  • Prepare month end balance sheet reconciliations, as assigned
  • SOX compliance, document internal controls for auditing compliance within the parameters of the SOX Control Document. Assist with quarterly testing requirements.
  • Perform internal auditing (test controls) of various documents/functions within the organization to ensure compliance with critical control measures.
  • Perform other duties as are designated by the supervisor.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of related accounting and finance principles
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Good writing skills and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a U.S. Person*
  • Needs to be available to work a full 8-hour day on Mondays and 25-40 hours per week for approximate 1 year period (Flexible other than Mondays). Preferred availability would be full-time for approximate 1 year period.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

  • Co-ops will be paid $23/hour
  • Given top priority for future co-op rotations and full-time positions.
  • This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful application must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work.
