Reports to: Regional Detox Manager

Summary: The Program Manager coordinates and manages day to day operations and services for residential clients by managing or performing the duties required to aid in the prevention and treatment of alcohol and drug abuse problems affecting individuals. Prepares reports, assessment tools, data collection as necessary and maintains records of program related activities. Maintains relationships with stakeholders and supports Another Road Detox Supervisor in their

supervision of their program providing support as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Interviews potential clientele with problems such as personal and family adjustments, finances, employment, food, clothing, housing, physical, emotional, mental and possible health impairments to determine nature and degree of detoxification necessary based upon presenting and underlying issues in accordance with ASAM criteria.
  • Managing intake referral from Access line providing intake dates and instruction. Assessments at intake to include information such as medical, psychological, and social factors contributing to the client's situation following the ASAM Criteria.
  • Refers clientele to community resources and other community organizations for clients to pursue once they transition out of the Detox into a lower level of care. Fostering relationships with stakeholders within the community making sure to comply with ethical guidelines to ensure the Good Samaritan name within the community is held in high regard.
  • Compiles client records of progress while in the Detox, using agency database programs to document services provided which includes ETO, Clinicians Gateway and Share Care. Make sure to adhere when communicating with stakeholders outside of the Good Samaritan Shelter organization via email to password protect documents if there has been a confidentiality breach notify QA as soon as possible for direction of how to handle the breach.
  • Monitor staff that are in clinician’s gateway making sure they adhere to state and county documentation requirements, mandate annual training of all staff and annual registration or certification with an accredited organization to comply with state and county requirements.
  • Provides care coordination services to help link clientele to services indicated on their treatment plan goals by documenting it in Clinicians Gateway within 3 days of the date the service was provided.
  • Ensures safety at all times during the detoxification process; monitors clients during the detoxification process providing support and feedback regarding their next level of care, including medically assisted treatment. Monitor medication distribution, ensuring the client is taking medication as prescribed and documenting when the client declined medication with referral back to primary care physician for evaluation.
  • Facilitate evidence-based treatment groups providing documentation for the group facilitated in clinician’s gateway within 3 days of the date of service. Assist with in-house groups and set up panels of detox related speakers to come into the Detox and provide beneficial information and education to clients during their stay at the Detox.
  • Transport clients as necessary in the agency provided vehicles to medical appointments, outside group meetings, shopping for food, attending Public Health appointments, or picking up prescribed medications as may be necessary.
  • Understands or is willing to educate themselves on 12 Steps of Recovery to support clients in their detoxification and sobriety. If you are not a 12-step member or in sobriety do not share your personal life with clients as to not deter them from their journey and allow them to pass judgment on you if you drink alcohol or use a mind-altering chemical for which we are encouraging clients to abstain from.
  • Drug tests clients as may be necessary ensuring to follow drug testing protocol. Never allow the client to test without being monitored by a same sex staff member. Use motivational interviewing skills to encourage the client to admit recent drug use and sign a statement of admission. If a client admits, use work with the sober center to take the client for a few days to sober up and return to the program.
  • Carries out duties and responsibilities in accordance with agency policy and procedures and applicable City, County, State and Federal Laws. Mandatory training is required by Behavior Wellness every fiscal year. As well as master training for Good Samaritan Shelter to include CPR and Food Handlers certifications as well as TB test.

  • Monitor property and facilities to protect from damage and/or theft and maintain

inventory of all household supplies (i.e. cleaning supplies, cooking utensils,

furniture, etc.)

Required Qualifications

  • Employment Eligibility Verification.
  • Negative tuberculosis test.
  • Successful completion of background screening.
  • Negative Pre-Employment Drug Screening Result
  • Driving is an essential function of this position
  • Must have Valid CA Driver's License
  • Must be able to qualify for Good Samaritan Shelter insurance coverage

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required) , Bachelor’s(Preferred)
  • Additionally, equivalent experience may also be considered in lieu of a formal educational qualification.
  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience
  • Certified as a substance abuse counselor
  • Have at least 2 years of experience working in social services, with populations in crisis
