SSI needs to add a Logistics III, Senior to support our current list of services provided to the U.S. Navy.

This position is established in support of the Precision Strike Weapons Program Office (PMA-201), Direct Attack Weapons and Guidance Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT) products located at NAWC WD China Lake, at Ridgecrest, California.

The incumbent will serve a Logistics Management Specialist in the Direct Attack Weapons and Guidance Systems supported programs.

This is a part time position.

Salary range is $38 to $51.

Your key duties will be to:

Assist the Assistant Program Manager for Logistics (APML) and Deputy Program Manager for Logistics (DAPML) with logistics support tasks including procurement and life cycle sustainment.

Duties include:

  • Assist in the development and update of Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP) for the weapon systems.
  • Provide weekly/status inputs to the Technical Project Office (TPO).
  • Support Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) by reviewing requirements documents and providing logistics related recommendations, attending SETR events throughout the weapons life cycle, and providing a report on each event.
  • Participate in program related teleconferences and meetings and provide meeting minutes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of an Ordnance Stockpile rotation and repair plan.
  • Submit a monthly report providing progress, status, and management efforts for all tasking defined in this SOW.
  • Provision and catalog new and modified items and provide supply support analysis to include identifying, planning, resourcing, testing, fielding, and implementing supply support strategies for new and modified items.
  • Review and provide logistics related comments and recommendations to packaging and container concepts to ensure compliance with DOD and Department of Transportation requirements.
  • Review and provide logistics related comments and recommendations to Shipboard Suitability reports to identify areas of aviation and weapons interface and possible logistics concerns for both new and in-service ships.
  • Assist in the development and update of Maintenance Task Analysis, Level of Repair Analysis, and maintenance plans for the weapon systems.
  • Provide recommendations for Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) fleet maintenance procedures, techniques, and requirements to ensure maintenance tasks satisfy operational requirements. Identify and recommend areas for changes and improvements for optimizing maintenance procedures to meet predetermined affordability and reliability goals.
  • Assist in the development and update of Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages Plans for the weapon systems.
  • Research and respond to fleet and program requests for information concerning weapon system configuration, performance, and reliability utilizing the All-Weapons Information System (AWIS).
  • Assist in the review, development, and updates to technical manual procedures in support of fleet users for the weapon systems.
  • Review and provide logistics related comments and recommendations on Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Technical Directives (TDs), technical documents, engineering drawings, and performance specifications.
  • Assist in the review, development, and update of Naval Training System Plans (NTSP) for the weapon systems and assist in the development of initial fleet training packages for the weapon systems.

Required Qualifications

Education: BS or BA degree; Working towards Professional Logistics Certification. At least six (6) years of experience in defense life cycle (acquisition) logistics.

Allowable Substitution: An additional two (2) years of experience working in direct support of Defense life-cycle logistics can be substituted for a BS or BA degree

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an explosive qualification and certification IAW the OPNAVIST 8023.24

Additional Preferred Experience:

  • Able to work independently and interact well, both verbally and in writing with Navy and Marine Corps civilian and military staff.
  • Supply Support and inventory accounting experience onboard naval vessels and/or shore activities.
