The Dive Steam Oyster Bar, a Cajun-Creole inspired restaurant, introduces Southern comfort food to Temple City through our specialty kettle bar. We strive to use quality ingredients and seafood — delivering the most flavorful dishes to San Gabriel Valley diners. The Dive aims to create a lively dining experience that welcomes families, dates, business meetings and everything in between. Job Responsibilities

• Line Cooks will be responsible for appetizers, some entrees, dessert, etc made in the back kitchen
• Kettle Line Cooks will be responsible for the front kettles while preparing and cooking main entrees.
• Help prep/line cooks prep, wash, peel, and/or cut various food.
• Maintaining a prepared and sanitary work area at all times
• Set up work station at the beginning of the shift
• Clean work station at the end of the shift
• Carrying equipment, food supplies, and utensils to and from work and storage areas
• Ensuring that Managers are informed of low inventory and equipment not working properly
• Becoming familiar with new menu items/dishes

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in a restaurant kitchen preferred
• No experience required for Kettle Cooks. Kitchen cooks who are assigned to the kettle bar will be trained by our Lead Chef.
• Able to place plates, utensils, pans and cases on high and low shelves
• Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required.
• Capable of using knives, slicing equipment and other good preparation equipment
• Capable of using kitchen appliances
• Excellent multi-tasking skills
• Takes all precautions and preventive measures necessary to ensure a clean food preparation environment
• Must be able to work various shifts, including nights and weekends
• Must be able to work under pressure
