The City of Cedar Hill is now accepting applications for the position of Library Content Creator for the Zula B. Wylie Library of Cedar Hill. The purpose of this position is to lead the creation and publishing of relevant, original, high-quality content for all library marketing platforms to include all digital and print. Develop and implement all visual and social media communication strategies on behalf of the library and the City of Cedar Hill. This includes creation and ideation of digital content and marketing materials, social media. This position is responsible for developing the next phase of branding of library and storytelling. Other duties include website maintenance, designing promotional items, and interfacing with staff and citizens.

How You Add Value

  • Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by responding to requests in a timely and professional manner. Maintains the various communication mediums for the library to ensure information that is provided is correct, timely and communicates the City’s vision and mission for our citizens, visitors, and businesses.
  • Writes and edits for a variety of communications media including newsletters, press releases, website, social media, emails, brochures, flyers, reports, and other city communication pieces.
  • Lead the creation and publishing of relevant, original, high-quality content for all library marketing platforms to include all digital and print.
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels, including online, email, mobile, video, and print.
  • Promotes content on our social media channels, monitors comments and conversations to determine relevant topics for future content.
  • Responsible for managing the library’s official social media outlets, including content posted on library accounts and content creation.
  • Monitors and provides essential feedback to all library staff with regard to their marketing materials, ensuring they exude professionalism and creativity.
  • Researches and analyzes new technology for use in communication strategies and activities.
  • Collaborate with staff regarding all library programs, activities, and events calendars.
  • Regular attendance required.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Bachelor's degree and skills necessary to perform essential functions of the position.
  • At least three years of media, marketing and/or public relations experience required.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.
  • Ability to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.
