Job description
St. Joseph School Cockeysville is hiring a part-time Librarian for the 23-24 School Year. The Librarian plans, guides and evaluates the effectiveness of the school library. The Librarian provides the appropriate learning atmosphere and activities designed to support the school’s instructional program. The successful applicant should demonstrate knowledge and communication of subject matter competency to students in grades PreK through 8. A willingness to commit to and collaborate on behalf of student growth and success is essential. This is a 24 hours weekly position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for management of the School Library including organizing and supervising the circulation of library materials, maintaining library records and providing opportunities for teacher and student participation in the selection of library materials
- Collaborates with peers to enhance the work environment and support instructional planning
- Demonstrates a willingness to respond to individual learning needs
- Supervises shelf reading, takes inventory and keeps the library in order
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or English or related field
- MSDE Certified
- Knowledgeable in technology use and integration
- Knowledge of curriculum, instructional methods/strategies, and curriculum differentiation
- Able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
- Practicing Catholic preferred
