Job Summary

The Leave of Absence (LOA) Administrator is responsible for coordinating the leave of absence program for one of the internal divisions of our organization. This team member will be responsible for monitoring and administering leave requests, communicating with employees and site leadership regarding leave requests, and collaborating with various stakeholders. This position is a temporary one - estimated 4 to 6 months.


Essential Functions

  • o Serves as main point of contact for internal division as it relates to leave of absence processes, including serving as a liaison between team member, site leadership, disability provider, and Total Rewards department
  • o Provides guidance on various federal, state and local leave laws, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, USERRA, state-specific FMLA and disability programs, and company offerings
  • o Review and resolve escalated leave of absence and disability issues
  • o Ensures compliance with various federal, state and local leave laws, responsible for communicating and implementing changes to internal policies and procedures as it relates to changing legislation
  • o Responsible for communicating leave approvals and denials, return to work documentation, and other pertinent information to team members and site leadership
  • o Works closely with other stakeholders, including Legal and Leave of Absence Program Manager, on complicated leave of absence requests and return to work certifications


Qualifications

  • o Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • o 3+ years of paraprofessional experience evaluating and processing leaves of absence at a mid-size or large organization
  • o Prior experience maintaining HR data in an HRIS system
  • o Knowledge of federal, state and local leave laws and how they interact with one another and paid disability programs
  • o Ability to communicate across levels of the organization in a professional and timely manner
  • o Strong knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Excel and Outlook
  • o Adept at researching changing legislation that impact leave of absence and updating policies and procedures

  • o High accuracy, attention to detail, analytical and numerical skills

  • o Effective time management to complete operational tasks; skills with ability to prioritize and manage to deadlines
  • o Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion; maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • o Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • o Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus
  • o Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills


Additional Details:

  • Remote work environment
  • Candidates in EST or CST business hours preferred
  • Strong focus on customer service, collaboration, and solutions-driven processes
  • Reports to Program Manager, Leave and Disability
  • Assignment length is between 4 and 6 months.
