Job Summary:

The Brewery Emporium Lead works in our Brewery Emporium in Paso Robles which serves as a haven for the ultimate craft beer connoisseur who seeks to delve deeper into the world of homebrew and beer education. The Lead provides a welcoming and educational experience to guests with the ability to impact knowledge of brewing, products, and beer in general. They are a conduit for education and an enjoyable atmosphere that employs the “Destination Paso” theme. The Lead position is distinguished from the associate position by having advanced understanding of established procedures and policies with the ability to apply that knowledge to unusual or more complex tasks.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Specifically, the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

• Provide inventory management using our POS system to include planning and stocking
• Complete front and back-end operations
• Provide excellent customer service including educating and informing customers on our beer, history and products for sale
• Maintain a working knowledge of beer and brewing process in general and specifically knowledge of Firestone Walker’s beers
• Maintain order and cleanliness in the store at all times
• Follow and enforce all ABC laws
• Create a fun, high energy environment; make customers feel welcome and relaxed
• Fill growlers as needed for customers and ensure they are filled properly and efficiently
• Divulge the correct information to the customer about each beer served
• Greet each customer as they enter the Emporium
• Process cash and credit card transactions through POS system
• Reconcile the cash/credit drawer at the end of the day
• Complete opening and closing tasks correctly and efficiently
• Constantly straighten and align retail items so they appear atheistically appealing to the customer
• Stock and replenish beer and merchandise retail items as needed
• Change kegs as needed for beer tastings; properly clean and maintain the draught system
• Assist the Brewery Emporium Manger with overseeing staff on days the Manger is not working. Assist the Brewery Emporium Manager with employee training and mentoring, task assignment, policy adherence and safety
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and prior experience in retail and customer service
• Self-motivated, organized and goal oriented
• Must be able to obtain California Responsible Beverage Service certification within 60 days of hire
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to teach/train others
• Ability to start and finish tasks in a timely manner; ability to be proactive and take initiative
• Ability to multi-task in high energy environment
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for long periods of time
• Must be at least 21 years old
