Purchasing (NPI Lead) to join our team in Beloit, KS. The NPI Lead assists in driving the strategic selection and sourcing of AGCO’s purchased components for New Product Introduction (NPI). The NPI Lead supports the achievement of project cost targets through analysis, negotiations, and coordinated early involvement between the Purchasing and Engineering organizations. Additionally, this position supports the implementation and execution of Commodity strategies resulting in best-in-class quality, delivery, and total cost of ownership for AGCO.

What Will You Do?

Responsibilities and deliverables of the NPI Lead:

  • Ensure sourcing lead times are achieved in accordance with the project schedule and targets.
  • Align CAPEX and component target cost between functional groups and ensure nominated vendor achieves the target cost(s).
  • Execute component project management schedule which compiles; list of new components requiring sourcing, timelines for RFQ (negotiation, technical review, award), prototype deliveries when required, series component deliveries when required and PPAP scheduling when required.
  • Assess project maturity all along the development cycle and escalate when gaps vs. ideal status are judged excessive and not possible to fill with normal development work.
  • Responsible to gather and coordinate all necessary resources to represent Purchasing at cross functional in-person team and project meetings.


Additional areas of accountability of the NPI Lead
:

  • Present to the Purchasing organization the content of the future projects and plan the main activities for the selection of the suppliers and the delivery of the parts.
  • Evaluate the impact of the project in terms of purchasing workload.
  • Consolidate the Capital Expenditure Request (CER) for supplier investments and budget forecasts on projects at his/her projects. Track and report product cost / investment for purchased parts (actual vs. target).
  • The NPI Lead will be required to process Engineering Change Notifications and coordinate early collaboration activities to facilitate the sourcing process with Regional Commodity Buyers (RCB) and the global sourcing strategy.
  • Use global processes and tools to support Purchasing, Engineering and Product Management goals (including consistent use of Preferred Supplier Lists, global sourcing process, AMPIP process, etc.). Provide full transparency on sourcing timeline and timely involvement on sourcing decisions by the Global NPI team. Support the development and implement Commodity strategies in collaboration with Global Commodity Managers (GCMs).
  • Plans and tracks RFQ activity according to project needs and against design releases from Engineering.
  • Support Quality on PPAP process by facilitating exchange of information to/from Suppliers. Tracking and reporting PPAP when required.
  • Execute component project management schedule (list of new components requiring sourcing, timelines for establishing pricing, prototype deliveries, PPAP deliveries).
  • Ensure parts are received to support project requirements while meeting price and quality targets


ESSENTIAL SKILLS

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business or Engineering related disciplines (ie. Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Commodities Management)
  • 2+ years of experience as a Buyer, Commodity Manager, Supply Chain Analyst, or another related commodity’s position


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA, or Master’s in a supply chain related degree, is preferred
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) certifications
  • Experience working with OEM or Tier 1 automotive supplier
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPS
  • 2+ years of experience working in commodity purchasing in manufacturing, managing at least $10 million in annual spend, using a ERP/MRP system, and supplier contract negotiation responsibility
  • 2+ years project management experience with cross functional teams
