JOB SUMMARY

Takes a lead role in acquiring, planning, and organizing age-appropriate curriculum and materials for recreational classes for children and adults. Takes a lead role in providing instruction for scheduled classes while providing a safe, fun, and positive recreational learning experience to all participants. Teaches a wide variety of activities such as crafts, outdoor education, physical activities/games, STEM topics, gardening, and cooking.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Supervises participants during programs to ensure safety and that a positive recreational experience is provided.
  • Designs, creates and implements classes with emphasis on developmentally appropriate topics, sequences and activities.
  • Uses proper educational methodology and a variety of techniques when instructing classes in order to facilitate a positive, inclusive, fun and effective learning environment.
  • Acquires, organizes, and manages inventory of class materials and curriculum.
  • Assists in training and provides a positive example for Leisure Instructors.
  • Processes, manages, and accurately documents attendance, rosters, waivers, program evaluations and cancellations.
  • Acts as a liaison to and communicates effectively with program participants, parents, recreation center members, co-workers, and citizens.
  • Collaborates on and assists with brochure cycles, special events and marketing of programs.
  • Provides exceptional customer service and follows and enforces Silverthorne Recreation Center policies.

Part - Time

Hours (must be able to work at least 2 of the following shifts):

Mondays 9-11:15am

Tuesdays 8:45am-12:15pm

Tuesdays 4-6pm

Thursdays 9-11:15am


Hiring Range is: $22.15 to $25.10

Full Pay Range is: $22.15 to $29.53


The Town of Silverthorne also provides a $400 hiring bonus to all new part-time employees.

$100 at time of hire

$300 after three months working and having worked a quarter of the number of hours required to receive a merit increase, e.g. 52 hours for a lifeguard, when the annual amount to receive a merit is 208 hours.
