CPLC Corazón is a client-centered, multicultural center with bilingual staff offering a variety of treatment modalities. We have provided Substance Abuse treatment through our CARF Accredited Level II Residential Treatment Center since 1983. The 30- to 60-day structured treatment program incorporates best practices targeted to the clients enrolled.


OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY

Under general direction, the Lead Client Support Specialist is responsible for the daily operations of the facility, including oversight of the safety and well-being of clients on the Corazon campus, provides support to client support specialists, participates in performance evaluations, coordinates/facilitating training, and provides supervision to Client Support Specialists (CSS) as directed. Directly reports to the Program Director.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Lead CSS provides CSS coverage as part of their daily job responsibilities and fills in for CSS coverage as needed. Ensure that the quality of service delivery is maintained through individual and group supervision. Strong attention to detail and thorough decision-making skills. Complete performance reviews annually for staff under direct supervision, including establishing specific, individual professional development goals. Document any incidents that may occur in the facility and reports the incidents to the immediate supervisor to be addressed. Interviews, select and makes recommendations on the hiring of new staff members. Work collaboratively with the supervisory team to provide orientation and training for new employees.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Master's degree or bachelor's degree in a field related to behavioral health
  • Registered nurse
  • Physician assistant who is not working as a medical practitioner
  • Bachelor's degree and at least one year of full-time behavioral health work experience
  • Associate's degree and at least two years of full-time behavioral health work experience
  • High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and credit hours of post-high school education in a field related to behavioral health completed no more than four years before the date the individual begins providing behavioral health services and two years of full-time behavioral health work experience or four years of full time behavioral health work experience
  • Licensed as a practical nurse, according to A.R.S. Title 32, Chapter 15, with at least two years of full-time behavioral health work experience.
  • Experience working in a residential setting
  • Knowledge of behavioral health systems and community resources
  • Ability to work with unique populations such as seriously mentally ill, homeless, and/or justice-connected men.
  • Must be responsible and reliable
  • Supervisory experience a plus.
  • Must be capable of dealing with crises
  • Must conduct themselves in a professional manner
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test upon hire and adhere to the CPLC chemical use policy.
  • Must have or obtain within 30 days of hire: CPR/First Aid Certification, CPI certification, AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card, current TB test.
  • Possess an Arizona Driver’s license, vehicle insurance and ability to be covered under CPLC’s policy


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Completes performance reviews annually, including establishing specific, individual professional development goals.
  • Participate in regular communication with Program Director regarding program services.
  • Interviews, selects and makes recommendations on the hiring of new staff members.
  • Responsible to meet with client support specialists and conduct group/individual supervision.
  • Work collaboratively with the supervisory team to provide orientation and training for new employees.
  • Completes intakes and orientation of new clients.
  • Responsible for the safety of the property and residents including monitoring all areas of the campus.
  • Provides recovery-focused support of all clients
  • Ability to work with unique populations
  • Active member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Monitors and enforces program policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for documenting client activities throughout the entire day in the electronic health record.
  • Checks for client attendance at mandatory meetings and any other pertinent observations.
  • Locks doors, windows and secures facility at designated curfew each night.
  • Records the absence or presence of each client during the designated census count times.
  • Documents any incidents that may occur on the facility and reports the incidents to their immediate supervisor to be addressed.
  • Wakes up clients each morning and monitors client chores.
  • Coordinates and directs transportation of clients, goods and services.
  • Implements phone, fire, disasters, and medical crisis procedures as required.
  • Attends and documents in-house group meetings, as requested.
  • Consults with the on-call supervisor or other designee for client and program related needs
  • Supports all areas of the program as requested to ensure the campus remains safe, and program needs are met.
