We are a small, home-based nature education program for kids from 2 years to 7 years old.

The kids really do help grow their own food and prepare it here :)

We are about 1 mile outside of Weaverville in the BEAUTIFUL Ivy Creek Valley.

We are growing, so we are hiring lead teachers, assistant teachers and substitutes right now:)

Our goal is to find folks who want to help our program and the children grow for long periods of time.

We are looking for people who are consistent and can develop deep, kind relationships with the kids.

Teachers who can be trusted to be here consistently will receive bonuses and raises. Pay is dependent on experience. As you help us grow over time, we can increase your pay depending on your abilities and work ethic.

We are hiring currently, and we have an opening in June as well.

We spend most of our time outdoors. If you love the great outdoors, this is for you:)

We do have nice heated indoor classrooms, when we need them.

We have one M-F 8:30 am - 2 pm lead teacher position open.

LEAD TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans projects and activities with guidance from the directors
• Keeping the kids safe and mentoring a culture of kindness with them
• Leading circle times and songs and creating rhythm through the day
• Facilitating child led creative free play
• Helping teach cooking classes, yoga, social-emotional activities
• Following opening and closing checklists
• Being adaptable when other unexpected needs arise to keep the school flowing with positivity
• CPR/First-Aid certified
• We also have assistant teachers openings from 8:30 - 2 pm and 1pm to 6pm M-F, M/W/F, or T/Th.

Assistant Teacher's RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supporting the lead teachers and directors when they need help
• Keeping the kids safe and mentoring a culture of kindness with them
• Leading circle times and songs to create rhythm through the day
• Facilitating child led creative free play
• Helping teach cooking classes, yoga, social-emotional activities
• Helping cook healthy meals for the kids and teachers
• Following opening and closing checklists
• Being adaptable when other unexpected needs arise to keep the school flowing with positivity
• CPR/First-Aid certified

REQUIREMENTS FOR BOTH POSITIONS:

• Experience working with children from 2 - 7 years old
• Understanding of child development and ability to apply that in a small group of children
• Mature/good judgment
• Team player
• Physical stamina including the ability to get up and down to interact with children on the ground and be outside.
• Ability to complete all required background checks, paperwork, and training
• Knowledge/experience of holistic education like Waldorf/Reggio/Montessori is a plus

We are also a family farm, with a lovely home and offer a very holistic and loving environment.

The lead teacher role would be for someone who can come in M-F for between 4-6 hours a day. It has a higher pay for long term committed educators who can be trusted to be a consistent mentor for the children. The lead teacher also helps to plan activities and schedules for the kids and teachers.

The assistant teacher role would be for a student or stay at home mom, with flexible part-time schedules.

We are looking for teachers who are able to maintain positive energy, while facilitating the kid's adventures.

Start Date: Monday January 2, 2023
Monday/Friday
8:30 am - 1:15 pm

And/or Thu 1:15pm - 5:45pm

Also always looking for subs with a flexible schedule

This is an assistant preschool teacher position
$12-$15 cash starting pay - depending on experience
Paid training

Responsibilities:

• Meet individual needs of children
• Supervise and interact with children in a positive manner and encourage involvement in learning activities
• Establish and maintain good communications with parents and coworkers
• Maintain a warm, safe, orderly, clean and appealing environment, in which children can grow, explore and learn
• Participate in staff training and meetings

Requirements:

• Experience with preschool children
• High school diploma or GED
• Understanding of child development and ability to apply that in a small group of children
• Mature/good judgement
• Team player
• Physical stamina including the ability to get up and down to interact with children on the ground and be outside.
• Ability to complete all required background checks, paperwork, and training
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is desirable but not required
• Knowledge/experience of holistic education like Waldorf/Reggio/Montessori is a plus

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour

• Elementary school
• Kindergarten
• Pre-Kindergarten

• Day shift
