Position Summary:
We are looking for a technical project leader to coordinate tractor Innovation activities related to CNH Industrial Agricultural Compact and Large Tractors in coordination with implements.

This position will support CNHI's Compact and Large (C&L) tractor Innovation activities related to the integration of technologies like automation, electrification, alternative fuels, HMI and Operator comfort into Compact and Large tractors considering always the field application in coordination with implements.

The primary goal is to support the C&L tractor strategy definition in closed collaboration with tractor platforms, brands and technology teams involved while keeping at the same time a strong coordination with implement teams and with the Small and Medium tractor organization.

Lead and execute projects across multiple tractor competence centers up to Technology Readiness Level 5 and support the transition towards advanced engeneering community/production.

Lead and support fundamental researches and projects aimed to identify the best solutions to give the proper answer to the Customer Driven Product Defintion.

Lead the requirement collection and act as interface with OEMs to find the best solutions that fit with the initial requirements.

The successful candidate in this position is accountable to develop, maintain, and release necessary system specifications and project documentation. The candidate has to communicate with the engineering team to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion following established design process.
Willing to travel to gain product and functional experience and assist in the evaluation of the prototypes in the field following defined test procedures and, if required, identify and report corrective actions to achieve the results.
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities:
  • Work within the C&L tractor area as technical team leader by developing innovative, functional features and systems that address future Platform needs considering the requirements related to the implement combination. An extensive amount of independent thinking is required to generate new ideas.
  • Leading and executing innovation projects related to the integration of technologies like automation, electrification, alternative fuels, HMI and Operator comfort into Compact and Large tractors.
  • Lead roadmap definition/fine tuning and projects deployment.
  • Prepare project documentation to be submitted for internal approval progress updates to direct manager as needed.
  • Defining and evaluating component and system costs versus achieved functionality.
  • Guide interns from university for those activities related to the projects and new investigations where the candidate is directly involved.
  • Review and understand technologies and trends that will influence medium term and long term product plans.
  • Work closely to simulation teams in building & validation of different simulation models on the new systems developed.
  • Update the related management tools (TcAE, kpi-tool, CTS…).
  • Transfer features and technologies to the Ag Platform.s
  • Definition of the functional requirements from customer requirements defined with Brands.
  • Support and coordinate systems architecture definition with key stakeholder, taking into account expected performances perceived by the customers, as well as product offering and manufacturability feasibility/needs.
  • Support the definition of System Validation Specifications and test plan definition.
  • Secure standardization of Systems and Functions among different platforms.
  • Support activities with Purchasing and Suppliers in line with component development.
  • Embrace Innovation mindset to promote and encourage new technology and be creative.
  • Be able to perform economic analysis for payback evaluation.

Other responsibilities
:
  • Share ideas for continuous improvements on the Ag products and on best practices for the team (tool, electronic design and control approach, sensor selection, document format).
  • Competency and desire to become and stay expert in his/her domain of technology.


The annual salary for this role is $124,00 - $209,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Mechatronic, Agricultural, Bio-systems engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Demonstrated skills pertaining to the development and integration of mechatronic systems.
  • Special interest in robotics, automation, alternative fuels and electrification.
  • High level of analytical problem-solving skills.
  • 5 or more years experience in Matlab and/or Simulink.

:

  • PhD highly preferred.

  • High level of analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Agricultural background or relevant experience in off road machinery engineering is a plus.
  • An extensive amount of independent thinking is required.
  • Ability to work transversally with different teams and interface easily with other engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to mentor, create teams and collaborate.
  • Ability to translate detailed technical information to relatable material for a broader audience.
  • Interact with team members across the different CNHi sites.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment that requires an open mindset.
