We are looking to fill multiple entry level laboratory technician positions at our ALS laboratory located in Kelso Washington has several laboratory technicians positions open. The laboratory technician position could be working in either our sample extractions departments or sample management departments. No experience is necessary, we offer on the job training. Overtime is available.

Overview

ALS Kelso is a full service environmental laboratory. Our 57000 sqft facility employs over 100 employees with opportunities for growth and development. Departments include PFAS, GC-MS, GC, metals, or General Chemistry. We offer methods including: PFAS by EPA 537.1, 533, and 1633. SVOCs by EPA 8270 PAH, VOCs by 8260, NWTPH, DRO RRO by 8015. Metals by 6020, 6010, 200.8, 200.7. Mercury by 245.1 7471, 7470. General chemistry to include BoD, TOC by 9060, IC by 300.0. We also offer a variety of ASTM methods.

ALS Kelso holds certification with the following regulatory agencies: DoD, NELAP, NELAC, ISO-17025, NYDEC, WADOH, CAELAP, ORELAP.

Primary Objectives:

Laboratory Technician will be responsible for ensuring that timely and quality results are produced.

Position Duties and Scope:

Laboratory Technician has the following duties:

• Ensure that all tasks are performed within both the time restraints and the relevant analysis standards.
• Highlight anomalies in results and sample type and sample behavior from running basic tests.
• Perform housekeeping duties as required.
• Calibrate equipment as required.
• Perform calculations as required when conducting analytical preparations.
• Prepare samples to be analyzed.
• Control consumable stock required for the tasks performed.
• Perform basic laboratory test.
• Create and maintain standards and reagents.
• Other duties as assigned.

Core Competencies:

• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to initiate corrective action without prompting and assist co-workers whenever necessary in order to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to effectively perform duties under pressures arising from large sample volumes and short turn-around times.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to use (or learn to use) Laboratory Information Management System.

Position Requirements:

• AA is preferred.
• High school diploma/GED required.
• 0 – 3 years of laboratory experience is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
