Responsibilities

An on-site, full-time opportunity as a Laboratory Assistant on the Mayo Collaborative Services (MCS) Inventory/Specimen Kit Orders Team is now available. This role includes weekday, rotating day shifts and immediate, on-site parking at the Marvin Building.

As a Laboratory Assistant on the Inventory/Specimen Kit Orders Team you will work collaboratively with team members and clients with direction from your supervisor. You will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical, kit building, processing, and other laboratory duties that include maintaining supply inventory, filing, stocking, receiving shipments, and cleaning. You will also work with various computer information systems on a daily basis.

Responsibilities will include actively partnering with team members by fostering an inclusive work environment and respecting others with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, lab reporting, anatomic pathology, returns (returning blocks/slides to clients), cleaning of Credo cubes, processing MCL supply requests, assembly work, processing/shipping of clinical kits to Mayo patients,

  • Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic.

**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.


Qualifications

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent to be considered for this position.

Additional Qualifications

  • DLMP/MCS employees that have been in their current lab/position for less than 2 years must attach an early release approval from their supervisor.
  • Internal applicants must include a cover letter and a resume to be considered for this position.
  • Internal applicants must attach your three (3) most recent performance appraisals.

  • Candidate should be interested in working offsite (Marvin Building) in non-wet lab, in a physical style environment.
  • Experience with EPIC, SCC Soft application, and FedEx/UPS shipping preferred.

  • Must be able to accommodate all scheduling adjustments and direction by immediate supervisor.

Compensation Detail

Required education, experience, tenure, and internal equity will be considered when job offers are extended. The pay range for Laboratory Assistant is $17.20 - $23.09 per hour.
