Kindergarten Teacher Job Description

Full-time – Part time

Pillars Academy is a NAEYC accredited faith based school serving children 18 months to 6 years of age. We are hiring an experienced teacher for the kindergarten class who has the following skills:

• Must have Bachelors degree in related field.
• Must have essential computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Office.
• California teaching credentials preferred.
• Committed, gentle, kind, caring and detailed oriented.
• Able to work with a team of educators and connect with both adults and children on a social-emotional level.
• Has excellent communication skills
• Creates a warm and accepting teaching environment that is responsive to multi-cultures.
• Sensitive to the needs of individual children, with concern for their interests, special talents, special needs, individual style and pace of learning.
• Proactively assumes responsibility of mapping state standards across thematic units
• Closely aligns instructional planning to practices and expectations of State Standards with technology and literacy development embedded across all subjects.
• Timely prepares weekly lesson plans with objectives driven activities /assessments and meets deadlines for administrator reviews.
• Adequately plans challenging and differentiated activities in alignment to learner style.
• Creatively scaffolds learning objectives making material relevant to students’ everyday life.
• Independently researches alternative activities to make learning more interesting for students.
