We have a new position for an exam room assistant/Kennel attendant. Gilmer Park Animal Clinic is a busy 3 doctor veterinary practice with a need for a person with high flexibility and good at multitasking. We will need this employee to spend a portion of time working as a kennel attendant and a portion of time working in the hospital exam rooms as support. In the kennel tasks will involve walking dogs and cleaning up after them, cleaning runs and pet enclosures, scooping litter boxes for cats, feeding, watering and medicating pets, and providing comfortable enclosures for hospitalized pets. It may also involve giving insulin injections. It will also include laundry, cleaning and sweeping/mopping the hospital. The exam room assistant job may include filling prescriptions, holding pets for vaccinations, nails trims or other procedures; taking pet histories, helping to draw blood, faxing prescriptions and making phone calls to clients. This job will involve weekends as a kennel attendant and only weekdays as an exam room assistant. It will likely be a part time position in the summer months expanding to a full time position in the fall. For a full time position, benefits are available after a 90 day waiting period. • Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
