Revenue Specialist/Jr Staff Accountant

SUMMARY & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role is part of the team responsible to ensure revenue is complete and accurately reported. This team collaborates with colleagues from across the organization in the review of revenue related items in client contracts and engagements. This role will be focused on revenue for the RPO& Professional Search segments for North America.

  • Conduct regular review of engagements/contracts to verify accuracy of revenue for all revenue streams, which include consulting, licenses/subscriptions, and web-based products
  • Partner with and provide consultation to sales, project management and the order to cash teams on revenue considerations in regard to client agreements, engagements and invoicing or credit memos
  • Review various revenue reports and perform sampling to ensure revenue is calculated and reported accurately
  • Ensure compliance with revenue related SOX controls established by Korn Ferry
  • Lead monthly phone meetings with sales, consulting and/or project management across the U.S. to review consulting engagements for accurate revenue recognition
  • Review engagements validated by the order to cash team for the application of accurate revenue models and that all requirements are met for the ability to recognize revenue
  • Approve credit memos after reviewing for impact to revenue and bad debt considerations
  • Review engagement change orders to assess any potential impact on revenue
  • Actively participate in initiatives of the Revenue team, including the implementation of the new revenue standard


EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years of Accounting experience
  • Experience with the calculation of revenue or reviewing revenue results for a service organization preferred
  • Public accounting or experience working for a public company a plus
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including creation of pivot tables and VLookUps
  • Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail while maintaining the ability to see the big picture
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization and at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills; able to prioritize and manage many simultaneous tasks and priorities to ensure timely completion of tasks that meet quality standards
  • Ability to adapt to workload fluctuations, prioritize and shift priorities as needed
  • Self-starter with confidence to make quick decisions independently or consult others as needed to ensure those decisions hold up to the standards of revenue recognition
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adjust the message based on
