We are seeking Job Coaches in Forked River, NJ- fantastic opportunity for professional growth, while making a difference!

The School to Employment Program (STEP) is a job training/transition program for high school students and young adults with special needs. STEP provides students with transferable vocational education and relevant social skill development as part of their Individualized Education Program (IEP), improving future opportunities for competitive employment and/or post-secondary education. STEP will provide students with real world, hands-on training through a unique opportunity to explore a number of different career paths.

We are offering a $500 sign-on bonus for full-time staff. You must complete 90 days of satisfactory employment to be eligible.

Requirements :

• High School Diploma/GED
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Valid Driver’s License
• Comfortable using personal vehicle to transport client (if necessary)

Responsibilities:

• Teach the consumer independent job skills, requirements utilizing job task analysis, and job specific supports.
• Assist consumers in reinforcing essential skills or teaching new skills in developing a resume, conducting a successful job interview, and completing a job application.
• Work side by side with individuals at the job site, analyzing the job requirements and breaking it into manageable components that can be taught to the consumer.
• Complete any unfinished work of the employee during the initial training.
• Cultivate a support network between the consumers and community members.
• Communicate consumers’ progress to the employer and support people, including family, residential staff and other professionals.
• Document individuals daily reports toward completing established goals, based on their ISP.
• Input/Update all ISP Data.
• Accurately complete all documentation in a timely manner.
• Basic knowledge of computer functions and programs. Must be able to navigate internet and use email.
