Headquartered in Princeton, NJ, Eden is a community-services provider and not-for-profit organization, serving children and adults with autism for over 40 years. Founded in 1975, Eden began as a small, family-oriented school for individuals with autism and today offers classes from pre-K through age 21. In addition, Eden provides services for adults with autism including residential and employment programs, as well as providing clinical and training support for families and professionals.

Introduction
We have an exciting career opportunity for a Janitor/Custodian who will provide daily cleaning services during regular business hours to the Eden School and Adult Services Day/Employment locations. This includes but is not limited to frequent cleaning and sanitizing of highly trafficked areas, removing debris, maintaining common room areas, restocking bathrooms and responding to all cleaning emergencies. Please note that we have two (2) full-time positions; one located in Princeton, and the other will be floating between the three (3) Day centers located in Hamilton, West Windsor, and Plainsboro.

Primary Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect all high touch areas including light switches, door knobs, cabinet pulls, and chairs throughout the main program areas.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, including sinks, toilets, partitions and urinals, faucets, metals and mirrors.
• Disinfect all horizontal surfaces including desks, tables and countertops in main program areas.
• Disinfect/clean all windows (excluding classrooms).
• Gather and dispose of trash throughout building (excluding classrooms).
• Stock bathrooms with necessities as required throughout the day including soap, paper towels, cleaning items and toilet paper.
• When applicable, place wet floor warning signs.
• Respond to any major spills or other cleaning emergencies.

We adhere to CDC guidelines. Employees are required to wear a mask at all times. Employees must complete a health questionnaire and have their temperature taken daily. We require strict adherence to all sanitation guidelines including frequent handwashing and six (6) feet social distancing.
Job Requirements:
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent
Experience: At least one (1) year of cleaning/housekeeping experience.

Training and Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license with record in good standing (5 points or less).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, kneel, stretch, stoop, and/or reach above shoulder level for extended periods of time (up to 30 minutes) during the work day.
• Vision requirements to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge

• Proven ability to take initiative.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets.
• Integrity and ability to work independently.

COVID-19 Statement and Vaccine Mandate

Vaccine Mandate: Governor Murphy’s Executive Order No. 283 requires employees who work in a covered setting provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster doses. The 'covered settings' listed in the Governor's Executive Order include all of Eden's residences and day programs. Therefore, documentation of vaccine status must be provided to Human Resources; if you are unvaccinated, you must obtain your first dose of the primary series of COVID-19 vaccine prior to your start/training date.

If you are already vaccinated, you must provide documented proof that you are up to date with your COVID-19 vaccination, including receiving a booster shot. That means that you must have both vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna) and your booster dose five (5) months later, or the single dose J&J vaccine and your booster dose two (2) months later.
