This on-site position provides academic technology support for campus including software and hardware expertise to students, faculty, and staff by installing and maintaining the information technology infrastructure including office & communications applications and devices, internet applications, computers and classroom hardware & software maintenance, file and print services, and workstation support.
  • Install and service computer hardware, software, and other technology equipment.
  • Monitor ticketing system; diagnose and repair hardware and software problems on computers and peripherals and then make minor repairs. Ensure completion of problem resolution and maintain asset information in ticketing system.
  • Provide first call response to academic technology related calls as needed.
  • Assist students and or faculty with resolving technology problems in classrooms in a timely fashion to minimize downtime during class periods.
  • Research technology for special projects and IT solutions; specify hardware and software; implement solutions and integration with existing IT environment.
  • Maintain knowledge about technical changes to software/hardware as new hardware add-ons to workstations such as cameras, touch devices, external drives, and security devices.
  • Maintain proficiency by reading technical news and listservs, finding out about the latest software/firmware updates, attending educational conferences, taking formal classes, and completing computer-based training courses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

Associate's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment.

One year of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.

Substitutions:

Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Training or certification related to the work assigned to the position will be considered as a substitution for the required experience and/or education.
